Opis dość kuriozalny. Film to kwintesencja kiczu lat 80-tych. Na trzeźwo raczej nie da się tego obejrzeć...

Film description

Dead-End Drive In is one of the last films of the ozploitation trend and it has almost all elements typical for this cinema: a dystopian vision of the future, spectacular car races, impressive duels, beautiful girls and a significant dose of black humour. In this film, there are also direct quotations from the classical ozploitation pieces, including the famous Turkey Shoot, the best-known film by Brian Trenchard-Smith (at one time, a great hit of the Polish video market). In Dead-End Drive In the future world is composed of prison-like enclaves peopled by antisocial individuals. One of such prisons is a drive-in cinema where gangs of irreparable punks live, spending their time on games, duels and watching films on the giant screen. Things change when a young rebel named Crabs and his provocative girlfriend arrive in the enclave.

Certainly, Dead-End Drive In is no masterpiece, even when compared to other ozploitation films, but undeniably it has a unique, anarchistic atmosphere and action sequences are excellently designed - especially the finale. Trenchard-Smith's film is also a tribute to drive-in cinemas. After all, ozploitation cinema was meant basically for viewers of such institutions and since they were replaced by home videos in the 80s, the Australian exploitation cinema has been in a crisis.
