Special event of the section which premieres at this year's ENH, the education and discussion cycle - New Horizons of Film Language, presenting the transformation of editing in contemporary cinema. Mike Figgis, the legendary mainstream director (Stormy Monday, Leaving Las Vegas) and - for more than a decade) of experimental cinema, too (Miss Julie, Hotel) will present his four-screen film Timecode (2000), mixing sound and image live. The dialogue and music are extremely important in this piece of art, as they guide the audience's perception among many stories in real time, shown simultaneously. After the screening there will be a discussion with the cycle's moderators and the director.
