Film description
In this short film Maddin returns to issues he touched upon in the Tales from the Gimli Hospital (1988), creating an alternative vision of Gunner and Snjófridur's honeymoon. The motif of a fish hitting another fish is very important in Hospital Fragment as a disturbing reference to homosexual desire (just like the whipped boy in Archangel or the slapped young men in Sissy-Boy-Slap-Party). Maddin himself is very satisfied with the visual aspect of the film. (ar)
