Born in 1947 in Budapest, Hungarian director and pedagogue, involved now in the Sundance Filmmakers Lab. In his artistic search he tried both feature films: the famous The Whistling Cobblestone (A sípoló macskakö, 1971), and documentaries. He obtained many special awards at film festivals and the special prize from the San Sebastian festival's jury for Stand Off (Túsztörténet, 1989) and the best Hungarian film award for A Hungarian Fairy Tale (Hol volt, hol nem volt, 1987). Such films as The Banquet (A bankett, 1982) or Package Tour (Társasutazás) were included in the list of 100 best documentaries by the International Documentary Association.
