Film description
Tsai Ming-Liang and Lee Kang-sheng take a camera to a river bank in Taipei. They film whatever they encounter: two dogs walking at twilight on the wet shore; flashing lights of the city. Tsai's off-screen voice can be heard: What we see here, is a reflection of a feeling hidden in our hearts. I miss it so much. I miss the river so much. I miss yesterday so much. And I miss the wonderful world. Once, there used to be a wonderful world. This film is a letter dedicated to Simon Field, the former director of the Rotterdam film festival. Karolina Kosińska
