About the event

Venetian Snares, a k a Aaron Funk, is a Canadian artist specialising in one of the most extreme forms of electronic music, co-founder and the most outstanding representative of the avant-garde style called breakcore. His works, including about a dozen EPs and more than twenty albums, have evolved over the years from drum'n'bass, punk, jazz, electro to classical music. Venetian Snares' latest album, Filth, was released last year. Prepare for a hellish dose of music straight from Winnipeg. This is also the place of origin of the Festival's guest, director Guy Maddin, who has made very warm comments about Venetian Snares' music and art.
