About the event
Lydia Lunch is a versatile artist, one of the figures who have had the greatest influence on the development of the American independent music scene. She creates music, writes, takes photos, and acts. The Boston Phoenix called her on of the ten most influential performers of the 1990s. She started her career in 1976 in the no-wave band Teenage Jesus and the Jerks. For years, she avoided any strict categories, ever searching for new, avant-garde and powerful sounds. She established her own production company Widowspeak Productions, where she recorded her spoken works. She believed this medium the most direct and effective. One couldn't list music projects she participated at. She played with The Billy Ver Plank Orchestra, Beirut Slump, Jim Thirlwell, 8-Eyed Spy, Nick Cave and many others.
